Our Ultralight products now bear the designation ULS. Ultra Lightweight Structure stands for uncompromising lightness combined with maximum compactness. ULS products are designed for extreme and specific applications.

Made from 100% high quality ultra-light materials

ULS stands for uncompromising high-tech products, which are made without exception from high-quality ultra-light materials. Careful handling is a prerequisite at ULS for maximum durability.

LEADING EDGE

Only the small leading edge area,
where tiny dust particles hit the surface,
is equipped with Skytex 32g.

UPPER SURFACE

The entire upper surface including
all design elements is made of the
very light and proven Skytex 27 g.

NITINOL WIRES

All wires on ULS products
are made of the super-elastic
nickel-titanium alloy,
for minimum weight and packing volume.

LESS STRESSED PROFILES

Less stressed profiles and diagonals
are made of Skytex 27 g cloth
with hard finish on ULS products.

STRESSED PROFILES

More stressed profiles and diagonals
are made of Skytex 32 g cloth, also
in hard finish quality.

LOWER SURFACE

The lower surface, which is under little stress both mechanically and aerodynamically, is made of the ultra-light Dominico DOKDO 10, currently the lightest paraglider material on the market.

Minimum weight, maximum performance

Diagonals can save lines and thus increase performance, but they add considerable weight. Our engineers, together with our X-Alps athletes, therefore drive continuous improvements year after year. For more than 15 years, we have been pioneers in tension and weight optimization of diagonal structures. This know-how forms the core of our ULS technology.

Trapezoid diagonals until 2013

We have continuously reduced the area of the trapezoidal diagonal structures through various geometric approaches over many years. We used this technology until the X-Alps glider in 2013.

Sliced Diagonals from 2014

A new technology standard was set. The triangles became strips. We were thus able to considerably reduce the amount of material used and perfectly align the ripstop structure of the individual strips with the direction of tension. Later, guys were added across four cells, where the diagonals ran freely through the ribs. However, additional support became necessary. This technology was first used on the OMEGA XALPS in 2015.

Multiconnect Sliced Diagonals from 2023

With the latest development step of the Sliced Diagonals in 2023, our development team has raised the previous standard to a new level. Since then, the continuous diagonals have been attached to each rib, thus eliminating the need for additional supports. This technology is extremely complex and requires maximum precision during production.

Consequent ULS quality

The ULTRA LIGHTWEIGHT STRUCTURE does not stop at the development of the sail. We also uncompromisingly optimize risers and accessories for the lowest possible weight.

LIGHTPACK ULS

The new LIGHTPACK ULS can be ordered directly with a ULS screen as an option. with it. Available from 550 g in sizes 52 L, 60 L and 70 L.

LIGHT RISERS

All ULS gliders are equipped with lightweight risers with soft links as standard.

FLATBAG ULS

The new FLATBAG ULS is a protective cover and compression bag in one. It is available in three sizes S, M and L, from 170 g.
